you'd get used to the rattling. I had the same thing (thanks to Keith's help that is)

When I had that setup, I just disconnected, put the pins in my toolbox until I reconnected earlier

As far as the sway bar itself, I just pushed it all the way to the top and ziptied it to something to hold it

I use small bungee cords or zip ties to hold the sway bar and link up HIGH to the frame. I have bungeed just the sway bar and had the bungee torn off due to it hanging down too low. Also, be sure that what ever you use don't slid down and allow the sway bar to fall back down.

Also, I was wondering if the pin you put in would hold the sway bar when attached? I would think the sway bar would come under some pretty strong tension. You might want to think about using a grade 5 or 8 bolt with a self locking nut and just unbolting it when off road. Hopefully you will get more post with more insight.

Yeah thats why I'm changing it tomorrow I'm taking the stock bolt and jsut drilling a hole and putting the hitch pin through.. that way I can put the nut back on finger tight and just run it off pull the pin and sway away!

WranglerMike,

Check out Sowells or some other tractor/farm supply company. You should be able to pick up the studs, clips, and hardened pins. I'm not sure about the sizes, as my CJ lost it's sway bar somewhere over the last 31 years(along with the original frame, body, and soon-to-be motor).

Can you post a pick of what the top of your sway bar looks like where you connects are attached? I can't remember what it looks like.
